I have someone who helped me on my team but since my vision is going in another direction. I am rethinking my involvement in a women's club which I support and pay dues. I am not sure it is best avenue to attract readership/fans to my website. I was hoping to draw like minded women to this club so they could provide some quality feedback, and suggestions. Since the website is not up and running and I did once announce it and got no feedback. I wonder how much time, money, and energy I want to spend on this.
I got in trouble by feeling 'sorry' for this person and I started paying for her meals, parking, and other incidentals for being in this club. But now I am resenting it because one..I see how she spends her money eating out and she makes no effort to try to creatively conserse money when she is unemployed. Now, she has the expectations that I have to pay for her involvement. I did ask her to be an assistant organizer and at the beginning I did state I would pay. But she wants to grow this club and do more activities which translates into money...she is forgetting the main overall purpose of why I created it in the first place. I don't have alot of money to spend right now doing activities which takes me from my real focus of creating, producing, and launching my website.
I am now angry I made a poor decision. I realized what good intentions I had in the beginning is not so good now. I was denied a business loan so the money is now coming from my saving.
I am really really angry. This has taught me a valuable lesson on who you bring aboard, and if they see your vision. If you have someone who wants to dominate or run the other direction with no focus then it chaos on the business owner.
My heart is breaking right now since I caused this infliction upon myself. But I see also that she is taking me for granted and have no reality check to understand what a burden this is now creating on me both emotional and financial.

Good News!!!!!!!!!! Yeeeee Haaaww!!!!!!
My friend Andrew suggested "Public access Television" to help produce my show. Guess what? It's 5 blocks from my house. What a blessing!!!I love God! It is not far from my house. I feel so energized. I just need to keep rolling and believing that God will take care of all details. Andrew was so great... he helped me rethink my mission statement. I was so eager to sell my self short but he reminded me of my core values/mission statement and to build my new ideal around this ideal. I am so grateful for people to come into my life.
I realized too that I need to be a better friend. I need to more of an active participant in other people's live. I have been somewhat secluded for awhile. I hope God will break that spell.

Giving up is too easy....
Yesterday, I was so fruastrated with my vision statement. I had to take it back and revise, and rethink it. I wanted my business to get off the ground by now. It has been 1 year since conception and I was still stuck in start up activities. It was was hard to swallow that this is where I was. Back at the beginning . I had this great idea of having a online dating show. But the cost of producing it will be alot. I am dreaming of the "mansion on the hill" but I am present living in the 'shack' which is my current operating budget and must confirm/live within my dream. I believe it has the power to take off and do well.
God always humbles me to no end. It is fraustrating since I feel I have no one to talk to. However, I did find the business counselor very helpful. This blog is my only avenue to really vent. I feel no one understands me.

Living on faith...
Sometimes, I wonder if this website and business will come together as I had envision it. There has been numerous delays and obstacles that I sort of got depressed about it. Then I remembered I am truly living on faith that this will work out...that in my heart that a door will open when God wants it to.
Faith is sometimes 'blind' and yet 'powerful'. "Blind" as to blind to other people's negativity, self doubt, and disbelief that you will one day make it. You have to keep believing and keep getting up each morning and knowing that door will open someday. I am not on my own timeline but God's timeline.
Faith is 'powerful' knowing that you life is out of your control. That there is God who watches and cares for me. There are things in life that happens that reconfirms my faith. With or without proof, faith is what is getting me through this period of self doubt and despair.
Truly God has been patient with me and there is a bigger picture to it all. I have to keep the faith....
Most important, having strong faith, obiedence, and self-control is not only for the difficult times but also for good times for remembering the Lord.
Faith..is fuel that drives the heart and the soul.

When your spouse does not follow your dream...
Today, I got a newsletter from a previous realtor that I worked with. I never bought a house from him but I still received his quarterly newsletters which I throughtly enjoyed. They are so personal and warm. He grabs your heart and draws you in which I like. It is like he is talking to you and you only. Kind of makes me feel special ...Even though I have not bought from him....I enjoy the content like helpful home tips and personal stories re: himself.
I had noticed the last 2 newsletter that he had incorporated and went out on his own business. He had written an article how his wife of 20 years are now separating and divorcing. I can't wonder if the stress of being a realtor in a terrible market and economy has hurt him. I wonder if the stress of no income finally broke the marriage. I felt a real stab in my heart. I know he truly believed in going out on his own and trying to make his business work. But should one's vision of having a business cost one their marriage?
Did the money run dry and so did her patience? I understand how important for your love one/spouse, to be behind you 100% to be there.
I don't know the full story...however, I do know struggling financially must really put a strain on the marriage.
In conclusion, my heart and prayers goes out to him, his wife, and his family during this trying time.

Being content with your life and what you have
Being content has brought me alot of peace. I don't look to buy more things to decorate the bedroom or house. All the shopping catalogs go straight in the trash. I know the minute I open them they create a desire or want. Maybe that is how life is. We look around and we see other people having more stuff and believe it creates happiness. But I know in my heart, it does not by what I have already. I question myself that from now on my heart is now focused on family and my business. All the money I make is going into my business.
This is not just a temporary situation but a lifestyle choice in making better decisions for my money and making the dollar stretch around the block. I am going through my closet and trying to reinvent items for a different purpose. I wanted a rolling bookcase to house all my business books and resource materials so I used my shoe rack for that.
My armoire which was not being properly used is now my new bookcase for all my reading materials. I took the doors off to remind me to go back to my research materials for writing materials.
I put a notebook next my bed to capture ideas when I am reading Inc. magazine or other magazines.
I read somewhere to "organize the small to prepare to the big". I am welcoming good energy and things into my life.

Chasing image
Today I realized after being hit on the head numerous times by God that I was chasing an image, clothes, etc. I wanted more and more stuff which leads to trouble. Especially when you don't have any positive cash flow. I finally realized I need to be content with what I currently have and not want or ask more. I felt I had a different prospective. I realized I have everything that I wanted.
Today, I had a moment when I thinking about returning to my old corporate job. But then I realized my life is beautiful now. It does not matter if I don't have very much cash flow. But I could never live in this time and moment again.
I have a marketing class that starts in June so I look forward to it.

Website at a stall
So I built my website from a wordpress platform. I can't load videos on it. It states its too big. I am not sure what to do now. Wait..I remember I can cut and paste the Utube link into it. Great idea. I sat in class for Social Media and building your Website; however, I am still technically computer challenged. It is sort of discouraging since I need to polish and load up videos. It needs to be a finish product before I market it. Oh joys of start up business... but I would not trade it for the world.

Agh Sick
So I was out sick for 6 weeks in month of Jan and Feb. It seemed forever to bounce back and get my feet back on the ground. I was taking care of toddler which seemed to pick up every imaginable bug. I adore him but it was hard not to get sick.

Dogfish Bewery-Lesson Learned
I just finish reading about Sam Calgione with Dogfish Brewery out of Inc. Magazine.
What I extracted out of this article is:
Owner: Sam Calgione
Business: Dogfish Head Craft Brewery
Vision: Exposing his customer's palate to something other that pale lagers made by Big industrial breweries.
Niche: Eccentric/different beer such as Aprihop (apricot tasting beer).

1) How humble he is: He never sits at the head of the table at meetings due to respect/knowledgement that others are putting alot of hard work/time into making the business great. On the same note, his cubicle is same size as others. How humbling that is when the CEO is on same plane and cubicle as his employees. This demonstrates how accessible and down-to-earth he really is. Quite a leader to view his company as one body and or sum of parts that equal to a great team dynamic.
2) Practice what you preach: He leaves his computer inbox open so he demonstrates accessibility and openness.
3) Work motto: Make work fun and enjoyable. Also, he is not trying to run a company where people aren't working for me. . He states 'The people who do the best at our company are working for themselves'.

Toyoko Joe's
I like to read a millionaire's story about every day or every other day. One in particular that I enjoyed reading was Larry Leith, owner/founder of Toyko's Joe, in Denver, Co.

Family Dollar rules!
Earlier this month, I was shopping for white uniforms at the Goodwill. My goal was not to spend any money towards clothes. All my money is truly for paying bills and putting it towards business start up. It is a sacrifice that has not been too difficult considering I have all clothes I need. Last week, when I was dropping by Family Dollar store to pick up a toy for a child I take care of and lo and behold, I spied some nursing uniforms. I had no ideal Family Dollar carried uniforms. They may be second hand quality but at price range of $5.00-$7.50 for a uniform top and/ot bottom....well that is quite a steal. So of course I bought 3 tops and 1 pants for the price of $26.00. This was income-based shopping at it's finest...from a Target girl to Family dollar girl. Well thank goodness there are discount stores when you need them. I was so truly grateful to be able to afford several uniforms for good price. Earlier in the week, I was at a uniform shop near a Community Hospital, and the price of one top was between $22-24 dollars. Yes, indeed, Family Dollar store rules!

Resignation
Flashback to 12/16/2009:
I submitted my resignation into my company. I felt like a house fell on top of me. At first, I thought I would be happy to leave but it turns out I was so sad leaving some people behind especially my boss. I pray she does not have any resentment towards me. I really feel she and I were made from the same cloth. We have alot of same emotions towards others. I am floored by her kindness and how gracious she is when I told her I was leaving. She is always saying positive things about me. She gives me hope. When I doubted myself she "believed" in me. I will never forget her act of kindness. Now, I have that same "hope" to give to others. I hope for a better world, homeless will have a home, my pain will end, my husband will appear, my children will come. I hope to be part of unit/family someday. I have 'hope' that God will give me a beautiful life. One of amazement and strength.
I uttered these very powerful words "My God is my God, My Lord is my Lord, and where He goes I will follow". That gives me such immense strength.
I was thinking of how unstable the economy is and for one to leave your job. Voluntary leave the nest egg that I was living. I was quite sorrowful of how I was not appreciative of things that were given to me on daily basis. I am so sorrowful that I had not made a decent contribution to my team/company. It breaks my heart. This was life I have know for about 11 years of my life and here it is that the door is closed.
I realized yesterday that I am already 'rich'. Rich with family, friend, and home. Money is a funny beast. It moves and flows. It can spent, loss, made. So I know in my heart I can make over my previous base pay. That is my goal. Go business or go bust.
